About Recare

As one of the leading German HealthTech companies, we are reshaping discharge management โ€“ technology-driven, patient-centered, and free from bureaucracy. In addition to our market-leading SaaS platform, we develop AI solutions that radically simplify processes in hospitals and for aftercare providers, relieve healthcare professionals, and refocus attention on patients. Today, we already connect two-thirds of all German hospitals with over 650 rehabilitation clinics and 25,000 nursing and homecare providers. With currently around 100 employees, we continue to grow โ€“ and we are looking for people with character who want to help us improve the healthcare system and solve administrative complexity across care journeys in Europe.

What to expect as our Engineering Manager (m/f/d):

  • Purposeful work โ€“ your role will have a positive impact on patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.

  • Company culture โ€“ we believe in flat hierarchies that promote high performance and strong team dynamics. We foster an environment characterized by mutual respect, loyalty, and recognition. Together, we strive for our goals โ€“ and expect the same from you.

  • Flexibility โ€“ want to pick up your child from daycare? Like to exercise during lunch? Weโ€™ll support you. We are a remote-friendly company offering flexible working hours. Workations are also possible by arrangement.

  • Edenred card โ€“ which you can use according to your needs.

  • Extra vacation day โ€“ so you can celebrate your birthday with your loved ones, youโ€™ll have the day off.

In this role, you can make an impact and grow with us as Engineering Manager (m/f/d):

As we continue to grow our engineering organization, the role of Engineering Manager becomes key to keeping teams aligned, healthy, and effective. Your mission is to develop people, strengthen collaboration across teams, and create the structures that allow engineers and Tech Leads to thrive while building products that truly improve healthcare.

  • You are responsible for the growth and development of engineers in your team cluster โ€“ running regular 1:1s, supporting career development, giving actionable feedback, and addressing conflicts early.

  • You are the driver of team health, making sure teams collaborate effectively, identifying friction early, and stepping in when challenges start affecting delivery or morale.

  • You shape how teams work together by facilitating discussions across teams and ensuring the right people are involved when decisions impact multiple areas.

  • You support Tech Leads by enabling them to focus on technical leadership and mentoring, while you make sure decisions are documented, communicated, and actually land in the teams.

  • You ensure that key engineering processes run smoothly โ€“ from planning cycles and cross-team dependency alignment to meaningful retrospectives.

  • You develop engineering beyond your immediate team by contributing to cross-team initiatives such as onboarding programs, engineering-wide practices, or collaboration with Product.

  • You analyze signals around team health and delivery, spotting potential problems early and helping teams address them before they escalate.

  • You accompany teams through operational situations by ensuring clear escalation paths, reliable incident workflows, and strong documentation practices.

Requirements

Hereโ€™s how we picture you as our Engineering Manager (m/f/d):

  • You have experience in engineering leadership roles, focusing on people management, and have worked closely with modern engineering teams in fast-growing product organizations.

  • You understand and dive deep in technical discussions and engineering trade-offs well enough to follow and facilitate conversations, even though your focus is on leadership rather than writing production code.

  • You bring strong emotional intelligence and the ability to give honest feedback, navigate conflicts, and hold people accountable in a constructive way.

  • You think like a coach โ€“ helping people grow and solve problems themselves instead of stepping in to solve everything for them.

  • You communicate clearly and proactively, making sure decisions, expectations, and challenges are transparent across teams and stakeholders.

  • You are comfortable working with multiple Tech Leads across teams while maintaining clarity around ownership and responsibilities.

  • You communicate confidently in English and are comfortable operating in an international environment.

If this sounds like your kind of challenge, weโ€™d love to hear from you.
